Up until 1998, there was not even a road to R\u00f3kab\u00e9rc. This changed when the current owner acquired the hunting lodge with the 5000 acres of land surrounding it. In the early 2000s, after the demolition of the former hunting lodge, the first bricks of the current hotel were put in place. Over the years the hotel was expanded with a conference room, bowling alley, outside swimming pool, and a wine cellar. In the meantime, the area became part of the Natura 2000 area.
